At Charles Carroll Cyclones, we aim to provide an inclusive and engaging environment for young girls interested in fastpitch softball. We are dedicated to promoting not just athletic skills but also mental wellness. Through our "brilliant at the basics" philosophy, we ensure our players master foundational skills while enjoying the game and building friendships.
We are centrally located in Northern Carroll County, MD and our home field is located at Cherrytown Road Park!

8U Team Coaches
Coach Kevin
Coach Brett
Assistant Coach Brett has enjoyed watching/ playing baseball since his youth and he is an avid Orioles fan. Coach Brett is entering his fourth season as an Assistant Coach. He started off with his daughter's t-ball team and continued with the Renegades/ Cyclones in Spring of '24. He looks forward to helping the program grow into the future.
Coach Zach
Assistant Coach Zach has been involved in sports from a young age, played travel and high school soccer. Coach Zach remains active with play in men's league softball. He started helping with his daughter's 8U team and loved watching them grow individually and as a team. Coach Zach is grateful for the opportunity to continue to help coach alongside Coach Kevin and Coach Brett.
10U Team Coaches
Commissioner/Coach Heather
Coach Heather has been playing softball since she was 6 years old. She played for South Carroll High School as a first and third baseman and acted as team captain her senior year. The Spring 2025 season will be her fourth season as head coach. She became co-commissioner for Charles Carroll softball in fall 2024.
Commissioner/Coach Rob
Coach Rob joins us after 21 years of active-duty service in the US Navy. His Assistant Coach role with Charles Carroll started in 2023 8U teams and will continue his role with the 10U team
Coach Matt
Coach Matt has coached youth softball for 4 years. This is his first spring season with Charles Carroll Cyclones. An avid sports fan he played youth baseball for 13 years and enjoys developing the fundamentals of young athletes.
12U Team Coaches
Coach Kelsey
Coach Kelsey has played softball for 30 years. She has played slow pitch, modified, fast pitch, and played high school and travel ball into early adulthood. She has played in adult co-ed slow pitch softball at the Sports Complex for 17 years, church league for MANY years, and women's league. Coach Kelsey has coached fast pitch softball for 7 years, and coached youth softball/baseball for 9 years. She is very excited for another amazing season!
Coach Sean
After growing up in Western Pennsylvania and playing baseball for 10+ years, Coach Sean has been a Carroll County resident since 2006. Coach Sean began volunteering as an Assistant Coach with Charles Carroll softball when his daughters began playing with Coach Kelsey’s 8U team. Entering his 4th spring season as an Assistant Coach, Coach Sean hopes to continue helping the girls learn the fundamentals of the sport and build upon their knowledge of the game.
